
Diets rich in whole grain foods and other plant foods and low in saturated fat and cholesterol may help reduce the risk of heart disease.
| Oats | 2 cups |
| water or milk | 5 cups |
| salt | 1/4 TSP (optional) |
| Rasins/Nuts/Syrup | Some |

Boil water or milk and salt.
Stir in oats and cook about 10 minutes over medium heat; stir occasionally. Do not leave your pot!

To be wonderful, throw in a few fresh berries, some toasted nuts, maple syrup or brown sugar.
When boiling milk, be careful about the spilling!
